Apples to Apples
The premise of Apples to Apples is quite simple - players
are called upon to select a red apple card from their hand
with the name of a person, place, thing or event which they
think is best characterized by the word on a randomly drawn
green apple card. The selected red apple cards are then
judged by one of the players to determine a winner for that
round. The endless combinations of people, places, things
and events result in many hilarious and surprising
comparisons. This refreshing, fast moving, and easy to
learn game is perfect for get-togethers of family and
friends.
This game gets my vote for best party game of the year too!
It can be played more or less competitively but mostly it's
a chance to get to know the players. It's hard to say which
is more fun, trying to outguess the judge or playing judge.
Fun with friends and with people you've just met. I
especially liked the variety of cards and the ability to
make your own rules, such as calling an "opposites round".
